Ganderbal, Feb 22 (KNO): One-way traffic was restored on the Srinagar-Leh national highway on Wednesday evening; days after a landslide hit the Rezan area of Kangan in this central Kashmir's Ganderbal district.
The highway was blocked on Sunday due to a landslide in which nearly a dozen houses, several shops and four cowsheds were damaged.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that men and machinery were pressed into service to clear the debris on the road to restoring the traffic movement on the highway.
“With the efforts of local administration, SDRF, Army, BRO and Ganderbal police, the debris was removed and one-way traffic movement was restored on the highway,” he said.
The official urged the people travelling on the Srinagar-Leh highway to take necessary precautions in order to avoid any untoward incident—(KNO)
